Gabriel Kahane
American pianist Jeffrey Kahane is an energetic and eloquent player, a truly versatile artist in full command of a repertoire ranging from Bach to Gershwin. His "deep musical understanding and razor-sharp sense of drama" (Denver Post) serve him well in his demanding and ambitious recital repertoire. Here in Berkeley, Kahane's varied program includes Liszt transcriptions of Bach, Schumann, Schubert, and Chopin, as well as selections by Pavel Haas and Gabriel Kahane (the artist's son).
