What do these symbols mean?
"As plenty of dance fans already know," says the Los Angeles Times, "Boris Eifman doesn't just choreograph ballets, he creates dynamic, theatrical, visionary works that delve into characters' lives in the most exciting, probing, titillating, and wondrous ways." Eifman Ballet has revolutionized the concept of classical dance in Russia by taking the art of ballet to its highest-and most modern-level of expressiveness. In its 2007 Berkeley appearances, the pages of two classic works of Russian literature will come alive as the company presents encore performances of Eifman's stunning take on Tolstoy's Anna Karenina (to music by Tchaikovsky)a huge hit at Zellerbach Hall in June of 2005as well as the world premiere of his new production of Chekhov's The Seagull (to music by Rachmaninoff and Scriabin).
