What do these symbols mean?
Paco de Lucía's nuanced flamenco guitar work can be passionate and violent one minute, delicate and heartbreaking the next. He has been performing for nearly 50 years, but like many deeply talented musicians, de Lucía was never content simply to excel as a traditional player. Always willing to stray from the path, he emerged as the leader of the Nuevo Flamenco movement, in which the classical art form is influenced by many different musical genres, most notably bossa nova, rumba, salsa, pop, rock, and jazz. Regardless of your feelings about such far-ranging musical explorations, de Lucía's playing remains awe-inspiring: blazingly fast, complex, and always captivating.
