Known as a powerful and profound interpreter of late Classical and early Romantic works, pianist Rudolf Buchbinder regularly appears with the world's premier orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, and Vienna Philharmonic. In different two programs, Buchbinder returns to Cal Performances for the fourth consecutive year, continuing his monumental survey of the complete Beethoven sonatas. "Buchbinder is a fearless keyboard technician whose playing blends athletic ferocity with clear-eyed interpretive rigor," says the San Francisco Chronicle.
