Cypress String Quartet

0

With its special combination of youthful energy and technical precision, the Cypress String Quartet has captivated audiences for more than a decade, reaching out in new ways to ignite interest in chamber music. The San Francisco-based ensemble has thrilled audiences at the Kennedy Center and the Library of Congress and on tours of Europe and Mexico, fast becoming a dynamic leader in the chamber music world. For this performance, the group will perform its innovative Last Quartets of Great Composers program, featuring masterworks by Haydn, Bartók, and Beethoven. "An attractive combination of structured Apollonian restraint and unleashed Dionysian exuberance" (The Washington Post).

Patron Sponsors Robert Mailer Anderson and Nicola Miner

Program: Haydn/Quartet in F Major, Op. 77, No. 2; Bartók/String Quartet No. 6; Beethoven/Quartet in F Major, Op. 135
