Pascal Rioult Dance Theatre

0

"Perhaps the most adept and courageous choreographer in mainstream modern dance today" (Backstage), Pascal Rioult has blazed a unique path, building on tradition and expanding the definition of contemporary dance. Famous for his bold and unexpected interpretations of great musical scores, Rioult creates new work that brings fresh perspective to timeless themes, seamlessly blending his European sensibilities with a strong background in American modern dance. His acclaimed company—a troupe of impeccably trained dancers—returns with a program featuring three West Coast premieres—all profound, uplifting works that appeal to both the mind and heart.

Program A (Fri): Rioult/Views of the Fleeting World, set to J.S. Bach (West Coast premiere); Black Diamond, set to Stravinsky's Duo Concertant; Symphony of Psalms, set to Stravinsky (West Coast premiere)
Program B (Sat): Rioult/Les Noces, set to Stravinsky (West Coast premiere); Wien, set to Ravel's La Valse; Boléro, set to Ravel
