Angelika Kirchschlager, mezzo-soprano
Malcolm Martineau, piano

"With a voice as ravishing as Angelika Kirchschlager's, nothing more is needed" (New York Times). The Austrian mezzo-soprano has quickly emerged as one of today's most sought-after vocalists, and she divides her time between recitals and opera in Europe, North America, and the Far East. One of the foremost interpreters of Mozart and Richard Strauss, her varied repertoire reaches from Bach, Mendelssohn, Schubert, and Berlioz to Brahms, Schumann, Weill, and Wolf. Kirchschlager will be joined on stage by a longtime favorite of Cal Performances audiences, pianist Malcolm Martineau.

Program: works by Schubert, Wolf, Korngold, and Weill
