"The reigning performance artist of her time" (Boston Globe), Laurie Anderson enjoys international fame for multimedia presentations in which she casts herself in roles as varied as visual artist, composer, poet, photographer, filmmaker, electronics whiz, vocalist, and instrumentalist. Her remarkable Homeland consists of a series of songs and stories that create a poetic and political portrait of contemporary American culture. Conceived as one long piece of music, Homeland moves through many worldsfrom Greek tragedy to American business modelsaddressing the current obsession with fear, violence, and security. Technologically, this new work is Anderson's most sophisticated production to date.
