Pomegranates & Figs:
A Feast of Jewish Music

featuring
Teslim
Kitka Women's Ensemble
and (klezmer band) The Gonifs

Celebrating the rich diversity of Jewish music, Pomegranates & Figs showcases the infectious exuberance of klezmer, Yiddish folk song, and the soulful traditions of Sephardic music. From the creators of Klezmer Mania!, this triple bill features the driving, danceable rhythms of klezmer band The Gonifs; the glorious harmonies of Kitka Women's Vocal Ensemble; and the Bay Area string duo Teslim, featuring violinist Kaila Flexer and multi-instrumentalist Gari Hegedus—with special guests violinists Julian Smedley, Shira Kammen, and Leah Wollenberg, harpist Liza Wallace, and percussionist Faisal Zedan.

Schmooze, kibbitz and nosh! Schmooze, kibbitz and nosh (visit, chat and snack) before the concert with savories, sweets, or a sit down meal, courtesy of downtown café at Zellerbach Hall. Special holiday menu items for this event will include small knishes, rugelach, dried figs with walnuts, baklavah, poppyseed cake, and more!
