Malcolm Martineau, piano
The Mozart tenor of choice on international stages in Europe and North America, Michael Schade has captured the attention of audiences and critics around the world. In 2007, he was named a Kammersänger by the Austrian government, the first Canadian to be so honored. Originally bestowed by the royal courts, the title (which means "chamber singer") is awarded to distinguished singers who have made a significant career in Austria. "It's a shock to hear Michael Schade for the first time. His voice is so beautiful; it takes a second to adjust to the fact that it’s real...His control of the audience—as of himself—was complete" (The New York Sun).
