David Lomelí, tenor
Berkeley Symphony Orchestra
Robert Cole, conductor
"Nuccia Focile is a revelation: powerful of voice and always deeply affecting," raved The Seattle Times of the soprano's recent appearance in Gluck's Iphigénie en Tauride. Also highly acclaimed for her interpretation of many of Mozart's heroines, and the great Puccini, Verdi, and Tchaikovsky roles, Focile has captured the hearts of audiences in the world's leading opera houses, including the Welsh National Opera, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Metropolitan Opera, and La Scala. She is joined in this program of opera arias and duets by Mexico City native David Lomelí, a San Francisco Opera Adler Fellow who makes his SF Opera debut in the company's summer 2009 production of La Traviata.
Program: Excerpts from La Boheme, Rigoletto, Gianni Schicchi, Turandot, Faust, Madama Butterfly, L'Elisir D'Amore, and La Traviata
