Friends Appreciation Concert

From time to time we like offer to our Friends of Cal Performances special ticket opportunities such as last year's Friends Appreciation Concert and Post-Performance Reception. Many donors accepted our invitation of complimentary tickets for the performance by the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, and thanked us for introducing them to this remarkable orchestra. We hope to introduce another of the world's greatest artists or ensembles to our Friends of Cal Performances in the 2009/10 Season. Please look for an announcement in the months to come.

Lyon Opera Ballet Open Rehearsal

See the Lyon Opera Ballet's creative process in action and how the ballet master leads the company through rehearsals. Please note that this invitation is limited to two people per membership or household and seating is limited to the mezzanine. This is not a ticketed event; current supporters should look for an invitation in the mail or email box closer to the event date.

In Conversation with Suzanne Farrell

Dance luminary, muse, and now company director Suzanne Farrell will join us for an intimate conversation. We'll delve into the years she spent as George Balanchine's muse, how she came to lead the Kennedy Center's own ballet company, and why she works so tirelessly to preserve Balanchine's body of work. We are excited to offer this rare talk with this imitable artist who remains a legendary figure in the ballet world today.


Home Concert with Garrick Ohlsson

It is rare to have the opportunity to see a performance in as intimate of a space as a private home. But we offer this special performance to our Directors Circle members each season. This fall, donors will enjoy a private performance by the remarkable pianist Garrick Ohlsson renowned for his technical prowess, enormous repertoire and magical interpretation of well loved pieces.




Directors Dinner
(Donors of $10,000+)

This exclusive dinner with the Director and one of our featured Special Event artists is our way of thanking our major donors for their leadership support. This year we are planning a special affair to commemorate our new Director's inaugural year at Cal Performances. Look for an artist announcement in the weeks to come; past Director's Dinner events have included Cecilia Bartoli and Bryn Terfel.
