Exchange Policy

We understand that you have a busy schedule and plans can change; we've designed our flexible exchange policy so that you can change your mind in advance or last minute. With the amazing array of performances we have to offer, there is always another choice if you can't make it to a performance for which you have purchased tickets. Exchanges are permitted for Cal Performances regular season fine arts events only. There are no exchanges for rental or co-sponsored events. Please call the ticket office before purchasing tickets if you are not sure which type of event you are purchasing. All ticket exchanges are limited to the current season; tickets for a performance in this year's fine arts season may not be exchanged for tickets to a performance in a future fine arts season. For the protection of our patrons, only the purchaser of record is eligible to exchange tickets. Please note that the Ticket Office must receive your original tickets back prior to processing your requested exchange and that we are unable to hold tickets for exchanges.

Subscription Ticket Exchanges:

Please note that 2009/10 Subscription exchanges begin July 25, 2009.

In Advance
There is no exchange fee charged for advance ticket exchanges by current Producers Circle Donors and Subscribers (subject to conditions and availability). A 10% discount only is applicable to Series Subscriber tickets exchanged to a non-series performance or to a performance by a different artist and to all Family Fare Child Subscription exchanges. Tickets must be received by the Ticket Office by the close of business the day prior to the performance from which you are exchanging. You may mail in your tickets, fax a photocopy of your tickets (torn in half horizontally), to 510.643.2359, or drop them off in person during regular Ticket Office hours. Subscribers may choose another performance at the time of the return or place the money on their account to be used for a future performance in the current season. Please note that funds places on account and not used during the current season are forfeited.

Day of Show
The tickets must be received by the Cal Performances Ticket Office no later than 3 hours prior to show time. Tickets may be sent to us via FAX at 510.643.2359 or dropped off at the Ticket Office window at Zellerbach Hall during regular business hours. On FAX requests, please include your name, contact number, the performance you would like to exchange into, and credit card information to pay the exchange fee and/or any difference in price. The Ticket Office will call you when we receive your exchange request. If we do not call you, we did not receive your request; please contact us at 510.642.9988 to confirm your transaction. The fee for Day of Show exchanges is $5 per ticket for Subscribers, plus any difference in price between performances.

All patrons, including Subscribers, must choose another performance to exchange into at the time of the return for Day of Show exchanges.

Single Ticket Exchanges:

In Advance
There is a $5 per ticket exchange fee for single ticket buyer ticket-for-ticket exchanges (subject to conditions and availability). Tickets must be received by the Ticket Office by the close of business the day prior to the performance from which you are exchanging. You may mail in your tickets, fax a photocopy of your tickets (torn in half horizontally) to 510.643.2359, or drop them off in person during regular Ticket Office hours. Lost, stolen, reprinted, or otherwise misplaced tickets cannot be exchanged.

Day of Show

Ticket Donations
If you unexpectedly cannot attend a performance, tickets may be returned to Cal Performances as a donation up until performance time. Ticket donations may be made over the telephone (510.642.9988), in person, or by FAX (510.643.2359) during regular business hours. After regular business hours, ticket donations are accepted at the venue box office for that performance up until the performance begins. A receipt for your ticket donation will be mailed to you. Please note that receipts for donations made via telephone can not be issued until the tickets are received by the Ticket Office.
